PREAMBLE 

 

The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) is an Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP). This implies that NAMA provides services for its numerous clients majorly users of the Nigerian Airspace.

 

  

Statutory Backing

  

   

ICAO Document 9082 (Air Navigation and Airport Charges) empowers all Aviation Service Providers to recover cost of ALL services rendered and Paragraph III Section r of Act 48 of 1999 which is also called the NAMA Act states that NAMA should “charge for all services”.

  

The responsibility of carrying out the above named functions fall squarely on the shoulders of the Commercial Department.

 

 

 

 

 

Sources Of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency’s Revenue
 


 

 

Please find underlisted the statutory Sources of Revenue to the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) as contained in Part V, Section II of NAMA’s Establishment Act 48 of 1999.

 

 

  1. All subventions and budgetary allocations from the Government of the Federation.


  2. All fees and funds accruing from:

    i.       En-route local, International facility charges;
     ii.     Overflight Charges;
    iii.       Charges on Class B Messages;
     iv.    23 percent of the Air Ticket sales  charges;
    v.     23 percent of the cargo sales charges;
    vi.   Sales of information;
    vii.   Violation of Airspace fines;
    viii.  Rentage of Property, Plant and Equipment;
    ix.   Contract Registration Fees;
    x.    All fees payable for violation of Airspace regulation;
    xi.   All sums accruing to the Agency by way of gifts, endowments, bequests,     grants,     or other contributions by persons and organizations;
    xii.  All return on investments;
    xiii. Foreign Aid and Assistance from Bilateral Agreement and
    xiv.  All other sums which may, from time to time, accrue to the Agency

  


It should be  noted that the Air Navigation Charges have always been published in NAMA’s Aeronautical Information Circulars (AIC) were approved by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) 
vide NCAA’s letter Ref : NCAA/ATR167/C.2/1/91

  

 

ALL ONLINE APPLICATION SHOULD BE SUBMITTED TO NAMA PORTAL ATLEAST 24HOURS BEFORE THE DATE OF OPERATION OF THE FLIGHT.

All registered aircraft clearance handling agents must:

§  Undergo training before attempting using the platform.

§  Submit their user name and e-mail address to aircraft clearance office for online registration.

§  A secret password will be sent to them through the e-mail address submitted.

 

 

Procedure To Log Into NAMA Clearance Website

 

§   Open a browser and type the address: flightclearance.gov.ng and press the enter key or log into NAMA website then click on e-clearance

§      e-flight Clearance Solution Portal will be open

§        Log in using your e-mail address & password

§        Card authentication window will be open

§        Card number issued to you by NAMA will be requested for

§        Enter the given number with its corresponding serial number

§        click the validate card button

§    You will be redirected to the Main menu on completion of Card Validation process if card is valid.

§       Then do the required logging either for Overflight, Ambulance or Technical landing

§     On submission a tracking number will be generated to indicate that the application has gotten to destination awaiting attention.

§     The tracking number could now be used to trace the position of the application till the permit number is issued.

 

Note: If the application is approved a permit number is issued and notification is received through e-mail and mobile SMS.

If the application is declined the agent will receive a notification through e-mail and mobile SMS with reason for rejection.
